Mark Waller

Mark Waller

Born in Papua New Guinea in 1963, Mark has been creating since he could hold a pencil.  Moving to Lennox Head when he was 10 helped shaped an idyllic childhood set amidst pandanus and sun-drenched beaches.  Mark has now been delighting us with his glorious, light-filled paintings for decades.

He is passionate about discovering the everyday tiny miracles in the world, and his work is focussed on highlighting and savouring these moments.  He has an infectious excitement about the artistic process, which he is more than happy to share with anyone and everyone.  An inspiring and (hyper) active individual, Mark is always happy to have a chat and welcomes visitors to his working gallery in Lennox Head, Australia.  More recently, due to his cancer journey, he is very much focussed on spreading light, kindness, and the idea of play through his work.

Mark’s tutorial website explore-acrylic-painting.com is dedicated to sharing both the knowledge he has amassed and the passion for both discovering and creating images.  The website has a large following, and is instrumental in providing a base for the workshops he holds around Australia and overseas.  His popular Youtube channel Explore Acrylics also gives people access to some of these skills, techniques and tutorials.  He has several tutorial products available for sale through his website including his popular (and digitally interactive) Beachscapes Paint Recipe book.

Mark’s work has been shown in galleries in Melbourne, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Western Australia, the Central Coast, Canberra, Sydney, Cyprus and in San Jose and New York in the United States.  Mark's work is currently shown in Lennox Head, Canberra and Cyprus.

Mark is excited to partner with Prints Against Poverty as he passionately believes that it will take acts of kindness like these to transform our planet and our planet’s future.
